The PMMA/CB system has been observed to become conductive at exceptionally low loading (0.133% by volume) of carbon black. We will measure samples with CB loading from 0.1% - 15% to follow the microstructures responsible for the electrical properties. In the carbon tubes in PMMA system, we need to determine the diameter distribution. The nanotubes are homogeneously distributed and are present at very low loadings (0.5 % by volume). Finally, for the PCL scaffolds, we need to determine the morphology of the scaffold surface as this is expected to correlate to our ability to grow osteoblasts in the pores. equipment_required: experiment: USAXS of carbon black in PMMA, carbon nanotubes in PMMA, and PCL tissue scaffolds foreign_nationals: hazards: none instrument: 33ID-D USAXS instrument_other: minimumdays: 1 name: Gabrielle Long new_request: ON nonmembers: Lyle Levine, Rosario Gerhardt, Yongwen Yuan unacceptable_dates: October 20 - 30 z34ID_details: #REMOTE_HOST: iotaanl.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.56.3 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1284 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1
