We plan to apply our newly developed crystal aperture technique to guard unwanted scattering background in coherent diffraction imaging of single particle objects. Specimens to be tested will include multi-twinned electrodeposited Pb microparticles, and freeze-dried yeast cells. Preliminary experiments have already been performed at 32-ID but a direct detection CCD was not available. A direct detection CCD is required to achieve the highest resolution needed for useful interpretations of the data. equipment_required: experiment: Coherent diffraction imaging with crystal guard apertures foreign_nationals: All experimenters are residents at APS. hazards: No hazardous specimens will be used in this experiment. instrument: 34ID-C coherent instrument_other: minimumdays: 5 name: Qun Shen nonmembers: Xianghui Xiao, Martin de Jonge, Yong Chu We wish to collaborate with Ross Harder in this experiment. submit: Submit unacceptable_dates: z34ID_change_undulator: no z34ID_details: We prefer to have a parasitic operation period at 34-ID-C before the start of our experiment. z34ID_parasitic: no #REMOTE_HOST: qshenlaptop.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.52.235 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1289 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/admin/unireq.html #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1)
